Ahold Delhaize maintains its AA MSCI ESG rating for second consecutive year

August 9, 2022 – Ahold Delhaize is pleased to announce that we have maintained our strong AA MSCI ESG rating for the second consecutive year. An MSCI ESG rating measures a company’s resilience to long-term environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and identifies industry leaders and laggards. Companies are rated on an industry-relative AAA-CCC scale according to their exposure and how well they manage those risks relative to peers.  

This AA rating also reflects the efforts of Ahold Delhaize and its local brands to manage risks, reduce carbon emissions, and continuously improve a diverse and inclusive workplace. All of these actions – small and large – have contributed to our strong ESG score. 

The unchanged AA score recognizes that Ahold Delhaize’s ESG practices lead those of global peers and are well-aligned with shareholder interests. Overall, it exemplifies that we’re a leading company in managing the most significant ESG risks and opportunities in the industry. As the MSCI ESG ranking is a primary research tool and a widely used benchmark by investors, this result will further underpin investors understanding of the importance we place on being a business that is fit for the future.
